At Booth J41 in Pavilion E5, TECH-LONG, together with Guangzhou Unique, showed the visitors the process from injection molding to bottle blowing. Chinese Packaging Equipment Maker TECH-LONG Sweeps into US Market -TECH-LONG Carried its Latest Products to NPE 2015

Recently, the high-profile 2015 international plastic exhibition (NPE) was held successfully in Orlando Convention center, Florida of USA. As China’s leading manufacturer of the high-end liquid packaging machinery, TECH-LONG carried its latest products to NPE 2015.

In recent years, Guangzhou TECH-LONG Packaging Machinery Co., Ltd. has become a leading manufacturing enterprise for domestic beverage packaging equipment, occupying 15% of the market. Up to date, TECH-LONG is preparing to enter and bring its success to USA-the largest packaging market in the world. On the NPE 2015, executives of TECH-LONG were interviewed by the Plastic News and made a speech on its entry into the US market. Leaders interviewed included Mr. Zhang Songming, chairman of the board of TECH-LONG, Mr. Keith Boss, CEO of TECH-LONG USA, and Mr. Johnson Zhang, director and general manager of TECH-LONG USA. They said that they would do their utmost to made TECH-LONG occupy 10-15% of the US market in the next five years.

On NPE 2015, TECH-LONG exhibited its latest products—the G5 rotary stretch blower. The output for the single cavity can be up to 2400 bottles per hour and includes 6 to 32 cavities, with energy consumption reduced by 10-15% and the high pressure air recovery rate up to 55%. This high performance machine utilized servo motor to replace the pneumatic stretch rod; the integrated clamp system can take bottles out of the mould more quickly; a new programmable logic controller has been added in the machine which is equipped with the 15-inch touch screen user interface. Through an integrated blowing device, the air sending volume and overall air sending volume are reduced. Six step blowing process are used for pre-blow-molding, second time blow molding, major blow molding, the first cycle, the second cycle and venting. This machine does not use the low pressure compressed air. Embryos of pre-form bottles can be sent automatically into blower machine. At the same time, Tech-Long also demonstrated a PET pre-form bottle embryo and injection molding machine produced by Guangzhou Unique Injection Molding Machinery Co., Ltd. Tech-Long holds 44.9% stake of this company. Tech-Long was founded by Mr Zhang Songming in 1999. After only 16 years, he has developed Tech-Long into a domestic industrial leader. Over the years, Tech-Long has taken the lead to draft several national industrial standards, and 70-80% of domestic brands of blowing and molding machines in the Chinese market are produced by TECH-LONG. TECH-LONG's international market presence is strong. With 2300 production lines installed in 80 countries, the company has collaborated with renowned international companies like P&G, Unilever, and Pepsi.

“We supply filling lines to P&G’s global locations, not just China, but also U.S. head office in Cincinnati, France, Czech Republic and Russia, and elsewhere,” Zhang Songming said.

TECH-LONG’s ongoing push in the U.S. market is built on the foundation of four years of preparation, said Johnson Zhang, who set up the Commerce, Calif-based American in December2011.

“We wanted to build a solid service and support system before pushing for sales,” added Zhang Songming.

In addition to the California headquarter, TECH-LONG USA also plans to open a facility on the East Coast before the end of the year. The boss, who is currently based in Atlanta, said the company has already picked the location but is not ready to announce. “It will be a 25,000-square-foot facility with machines, spare parts and service,” he said. “We’ll have injection molding, blowing and packaging equipment.”

In recent years, TECH-LONG headquarters in USA has sold 25 sets of blower in America, 9 of them were sold for the American market. The G5 blower demonstrated on NPE 2015 was sold and delivered to one customer in Texas.

Johnson Zhang said: “we don’t worry about sales. We pay more attention to the market recognition of our technology and brand. We want to ensure the greatest satisfaction from customers.”

Mr. Zhang Songming said: “we are sending a signal to the market, we will take root in this, and we have a long-term development plan. We want to win the loyalty and trust of American customers.” He added: “we believe that our technology is as brilliant as or even better than that of any blower manufacturers around the world. In fact, technology is always the most important priority of TECH-LONG.” TECH-LONG puts 5-7% of its annual sales in research and development, and now holds more than 70 patents. “I hope that the US market can find our self-developed technology the first-class, we win customers not only out of the price.” Mr Zhang Songming stated.

He added, the molding machine of TECH-LONG is simple in design and easy for maintenance. The fact that our giant customers like P&G using our equipment around the world has indicated, “our products has proved their strength in the past decade.”

Johnson Zhang said, inviting industry veteran Mr. Boss to join is an integral part of TECH-LONG’s global expansion.

Before joining TECH-LONG, Mr. Boss was vice president and general manager of Sidel North American headquarters. And he worked in HUSKY offices in Asia, Europe and the United States for more than 20 years. During this time, sales of HUSKY increased more than 20 times. Mr. Boss said, he sees the same huge growth potential in TECH-LONG as in HUSKY before he joined TECH-LONG. He said, “TECH-LONG is ready to expand in America!”

A Complete HMI Operation Guide to Tech-Long Filling Machine

Filling machines are necessary equipment to fill a liquid or other materials within a container, including beverages, oils, medicines, etc. This type of machinery is employed in numerous industries, ranging from beverages, food, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals.

The main purpose of the filling machine is to meet higher production demands while meeting hygiene standards. The product is completely sealed under sterile conditions to ensure consumer safety.

Preparation steps before production

Before starting the machine, the operator needs to check the basic condition of the machine. Whether the machine can operate safely? Or whether the machine is ready for operation?

After the inspection, there should be no items that don’t conform to safe production operations or have potential safety hazards. However, in the actual operation process, the inspection items can be appropriately added as needed to meet the safety standards.

NOTE: Please perform a proper inspection and start-up of each machine on the filling line. When checking, please use the file belonging to this machine.

Here is the item information to check:

In the “filling machine immersion” or “immersion sterilization” state, the following machine parts are in a sealed state: self-cleaning parts, piping systems, product supply lines, pneumatic parts, and hydraulic parts. If these parts must be opened or disassembled, the machine must be depressurized.
Please refer to the relevant electrical equipment system documentation for electrical equipment system inspections.
Check operating supplies, including electricity, gases (CO2, N2, sterile air), operating air, water, steam, etc. Make sure that the running supply provided is correct in terms of quality, quantity, and pressure.
Ready for auxiliary equipment operation: bottle delivery system, water lubrication system, cap organizer, and cap sterilizer.
Ensure all maintenance work is finished and all lubrication points are lubricated.
Check whether the bottle-type-related parts of the machine are converted to the corresponding bottle type.
Before starting the machine, make sure that all transfer parts are installed, secured, and thoroughly adjusted.
Check whether the delivered bottles are of acceptable quality and operate normally.
Check the outside of the machine for items that are not part of the machine.
Set all selector switches to the “Auto” position on the control board.

Specific steps to operate

Before starting the device, check that the control cabinet is powered. After that, open the operation panel for a few seconds and then enter the home page automatically.

Switch between Chinese and English

The text language of the touch screen is Chinese by default, but the operator can switch the text language through the Chinese and English keys.

Auto screen

Enter the automatic screen from the home page. After entering the automatic screen, there are 8 selection modes on the far left, including automatic, manual, CIP, parameter setting, lubrication, user management, message, and exit. Click the corresponding button, and the touch screen page will jump to this screen.

Parameter settings

Click the setting button on the automatic screen, and the page will jump to the parameter setting screen.

NOTE: The parameters have been set during machine commissioning, and you only need to check whether the parameters meet the current requirements. Please have the parameters adjusted by professionally trained technicians if changes are required.

Production mode

Press the corresponding button, and the machine will enter the production-ready state. When the machine is in automatic mode and production-ready simultaneously, the machine will run automatically under production conditions. On the other hand, the system will make corresponding actions according to the status of each sensor.

Automatic mode

Stand-alone mode

Rotate the buttons on the operator panel to the stand-alone position. When the production is ready to meet the required standards for production, click the corresponding button to enter the single-alone automatic mode.

Online mode

Rotate the two-position switch on the operation panel to the online position. Connect the device to the blow molding machine and press the online button to start the blow molding machine.

Post-production treatment

Properly dispose of production waste to ensure hygienic standards in the production area and the production machines.
Turn off the power supply, gas source, and other switches according to the actual situation.
Shut down the machine according to the requirement.
Check if the security alert prompts an alarm. If prompted, please refer to the chapter on Alarm Handling and then perform other operations after handling.
Check whether other safety hazards or matters don’t meet safety production.

Another TECH-LONG Embryonic Drying Method Sterilization Flexible Aseptic Filling Line Successfully Ppassed the Neutral Medium Verification

TECH-LONG launched another flexible aseptic filling line with an embryonic drying method that successfully passed the neutral medium verification

Recently, another TECH-LONG embryonic chemical dry sterilization flexible aseptic line passed the sterile neutral medium verification at the customer's site with zero contamination of more than 30,000 bottles in one go.

TECH-LONG provided a 24000BPH embryo chemical dry method flexible aseptic filling line for a well-known tea beverage brand manufacturer in Hong Kong. The embryos and caps of this production line are dry sterilized using vaporized hydrogen peroxide (VPHP), which can realize conventional beverages. and flexible aseptic filling of CSD products.

The verification personnel of both parties confirmed the performance of each single machine and the sterility verification of the production line. Among them, the intraembryonic KL value is ≥7log (ATCC 9372), the extraembryonic KL value is ≥6log (ATCC 9372), and the residual hydrogen peroxide in the product is less than 0.5ppm. , the sterile material storage tank was kept sterile for ≥120 hours. Afterwards, the verification personnel of both parties jointly conducted a neutral LG culture medium filling test on the filling line.

More than 30,000 bottles of neutral LG medium products were filled and fully inspected after 14 days of insulation with the 0 rate of microbial contamination. The project successfully passed the neutral LG medium verification. At the same time, the device also passed the sterility destructive test (window test).
